About NTES
The Northern Territory Emergency Service (NTES) is a division of the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services (NTPFES). NTES comprises of a small team of 19 employees and over 300 volunteers who provide an emergency response capability within each region across the Territory.
Our Role
The Northern Territory Emergency Service is responsible for facilitating Emergency
Management planning, raising public awareness of potential disasters and providing
a response capability for emergency events through dedicated volunteers, in cooperation
with NT and Local Government, as well as community groups.
The response may be on an individual basis or in support of the other sections of
the NTPFES.

There are over 300 NTES volunteers operating from Volunteer Units across the Territory.
The 19 NTES employees coordinate the NTES volunteers from four offices: Territory
Headquarters in Berrimah, Darwin; Katherine; Tennant Creek and Southern Region Headquarters
in Alice Springs.
