Aggravated Assault - Public Assistance Sought - Katherine

Police are seeking public assistance in relation to an alleged aggravated assault in Katherine early this morning.

Senior Constable Mitchell Stephens said a 20-year-old woman was walking along a trail near Katherine Hot Spring, at around 4:00am, when she was approached by two males.

"It is alleged the two males assaulted the woman. The woman was able to escape and contacted Police.

"Members from the Northern Investigation Section are investigating.

"The first male is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, aged in his 30's, with a moustache and was wearing dark clothing.

"The second male is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, aged in his 20's and wearing dark clothing.

"Police urge anyone who may have any further information in relation to this incident to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
