Sexual Assault - Public Assistance Sought - Fannie Bay

Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Fannie Bay last night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Janelle Tonkin said a 29-year-old woman was walking home when she was approached by an unknown male at the intersection of East Point Road and Lampe Street at around 7:00pm.

“It is alleged the unknown male assaulted the woman before sexually assaulting her at a nearby location.

“The male is described as being of Indigenous appearance, approximately 18-years-old. He was wearing a dark cap, a dark coloured shirt, light brown shorts and sports shoes.

“Police urge anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between 6:30pm and 7:30pm or anyone with any further information to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
