Suspicious House Fire – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service attended a house fire in Sadadeen early this morning.

Southern Command District Manager David Letheby said that the fire was quickly contained.

“Fire and Rescue crews were alerted to the fire at 2:25am and arrived at 2:32am to find the property partially alight.

"The fire was extinguished in a timely manner and was contained to the lounge room.

“There was smoke and heat damage to the rest of the house but thankfully, no one was injured,” Mr Letheby said.

Superintendent Peter Gordon said that a 45-year-old female was arrested in relation to the fire.

"She was conveyed to the Alice Springs Police station where she remains in custody and is assisting Police with inquiries.”
