Sunday 05-Mar-2017 18:00
Warnings for Tropical Cyclone Blanche have been cancelled from Dundee Beach to Point Stuart, including Darwin.
Regional Controller, Commander Brent Warren said warnings remain for Mitchell Plateau to Dundee Beach, including Wadeye.
“Communities in the western Top End are still experiencing rain and wind gusts and we remind people to take care and drive to conditions,” he said.
“Communities in the Daly River region, including Wadeye should be aware of river levels and road conditions and restrict all unnecessary travel.”
Commander Warren said although Darwin and the rural areas are no longer on cyclone warning the weather conditions are still expected to be blustery and wet.
“At this stage, all schools will open as usual tomorrow, Monday 6 March, and public transport should be able to resume all services.”
Cyclone shelters in the Darwin Supreme Court and Palmerston Senior College have now been closed.
The Cyclone Watch zone extends further west on the Kimberley coast to Cockatoo Island.
