Call for witnesses - Car-jacking - Palmerston

Investigators from Strike Force Trident have arrested a man in relation to an alleged car-jacking last night.

It is alleged that around 10pm in the car park of a Palmerston shopping centre, a 70-year-old man was punched to the face by a man unknown to him, knocking him to the ground and causing a laceration requiring stitches. He was also allegedly threatened by the man.

The victim’s car keys were then allegedly stolen by the man who drove away in the victim’s vehicle, a white 2016 Holden Trax with NT registration CC08CJ. The vehicle was found about five hours later in Fannie Bay, completely destroyed by fire.
