Ti Tree – Central Desert

The community is situated on flat plains with the Reynolds Ranges in the south west and Watt Ranges in the north east. Cattle stations and horticulture are the region’s main industries with Ti Tree Farm, Central Australian Produce Farm and seven other grape farms producing table grapes for the Australian market. The roadhouse has taken on an additional role as an orphanage for injured birds and animals, with the red kangaroo and wedge tail eagle among its residents.

There is a Primary School, with correspondence or boarding school being the only secondary education options.

Health services

The community health centre provides primary health care services to the residents of Ti Tree Community via a mix of aboriginal health workers, registered nurses and through visits by a district medical officer.

Recreation activities

Ti Tree Football Club (Roosters) participates in the Central Australian Country Cup in Alice Springs each year. Family BBQs are a frequent social event. Ti Tree Roadhouse is the central meeting place for most locals, usually meeting for counter meals and drinks on Fridays and Saturday nights. Pool, darts, and footy tipping competitions and the occasional live band make the place very social.
