The Northern Territory Emergency Service comprises of volunteers and staff who provide a response capability within each region across the Territory.
There are approximately 300 NTES volunteers in the Territory operating from around 30 regional units. The northern region of the NT manages 20 units, consisting of 214 volunteers, while the southern region maintain 11 units, consisting of a force of 91 volunteers.
There are currently 15 permanent staff across the Territory who coordinate the NTES Volunteers, from two headquarters ; Territory Headquarters in Berrimah in Darwin, and Southern Region Headquarters in Alice Springs.
