Members from the Major Crime Unit are investigating a homicide that occurred in Nightcliff at approximately 6:15 pm this evening.

It is believed that an altercation occurred between two people at a residence on Progress Drive, resulting in the victim sustaining stab wounds to the chest.

St John Ambulance members arrived on the scene shortly after, locating the male deceased.

A crime scene has been established as members attend the scene.

A male is currently in police custody assisting with enquiries.
