Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad have arrested two men and a woman in relation to an assault with stealing in Nightcliff yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board said two men, aged 19 and 25, have been charged with robbery in company and stealing.

“This timely arrest is an excellent result for Police and I would like to thank members of the public and the media for their assistance,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Board.

“Police will allege that this robbery was premeditated and it is a great result to see them put before the courts as a result of their criminal behaviour.

“A 15-year-old female is currently in Police custody after being arrested for drinking driving in the early hours of this morning where she returned a breath alcohol reading of .121%.

“She will be interviewed by Detectives later today in relation to the taxi driver assault and stealing.”

The 19-year-old man will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court this morning and the 25-year-old man has been bailed to appear at a later date.
