A 48-year-old man wanted in Queensland for numerous child sexual offences, has been arrested by NT Police.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Janelle Snigg said the man came to Police attention while members were in attendance at a residence for an unrelated matter.

“Investigators from the Southern Domestic Violence Prevention Unit arrested the man at a property in Jay Creek yesterday and he has been remanded in custody.

“The man is wanted by Queensland Police for three outstanding warrants for child sexual offences in Queensland.”

Detectives from Ipswitch are travelling to Alice Springs today to seek extradition of the man back to Queensland.
