Four charged with unlawful entry - Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have arrested and charged four youths aged 14, 15 and 16 in relation to a series of unlawful entries and stolen vehicles.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Janelle Snigg said three male youths unlawfully entered the Old Timers Retirement Village and stole a small amount of money and a Subaru Hatchback in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“A 14-year-old male and two15-year-old males appeared in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today charged with a number of unlawful entry, stealing, unlawful use of motor vehicle and criminal damage offences.

“In a separate incident on the same day at around 11:00pm, a 15-year-old male unlawfully entered a residence in Braitling and stole a Hyundai four-wheel drive.

“It appears he has picked up a 16-year-old female in the stolen car from the Alice Springs Hospital lawns.

“The 16-year-old female was arrested and appeared before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Snigg said “excellent work from Alice Springs Police, Detectives and Forensic officers led to the quick identification and arrest of these offenders.” “Police will not tolerate this violation of personal property and offenders will be caught.”
