Police are investigating the death of a 52-year-old male whose body was located in the Todd River bank yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Travis Wurst said a member of the public made the report to an off-duty Police Officer, who then alerted Police at approximately 6:30pm.

“Investigators from the Coronial Investigation Unit and Southern Investigation Unit attended the scene, approximately 150 metres north of the Tunks Road and Barrett Drive intersection,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Wurst.

At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police have identified the man and next of kin have been notified. No further details are available.

A file will now be prepared for the Coroner.
