A 27-year-old female remains in Police custody and is currently being interviewed following the death of a woman in Ali Curung early yesterday morning.

Police have also arrested a 32-year-old male in relation to the breach of a domestic violence order concerning the 26-year-old victim.

“The investigation surrounding this death has been difficult due to conflicting information provided by witnesses,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Bradley Currie of the Major Crime Squad.

“Our investigation is ongoing, and we anticipate that charges will be laid later tonight.

Police will continue to investigate the incident and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
