Unlawful Entry Charges - Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have arrested and charged three males aged between 15 and 16 in relation to a series of unlawful entries between 9 to 16 December.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Janelle Snigg said “Excellent police work by both uniform police, forensic investigators and detectives lead to the arrests and we are hopeful for more arrests in the coming days.”

A 15-year-old male appeared in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today charged with two counts each of unlawful entry, damage to property and stealing as well as the unlawful use of a motor vehicle and traffic offences.

A 16-year-old male appeared in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today, after been arrested on an outstanding warrant for offences of unlawful entry and stealing.  

“It’s a timely reminder for residents to lock their vehicles and make sure their homes are secure in the lead up to Christmas.  It only takes a moment for opportunistic thieves to take advantage of an unlocked door.” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Snigg said.

Police urge members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 131 444.
