Police are calling for public assistance in relation to a suspicious fire at Eastside last night.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said Police and Firefighters were called to a shed fire in Mueller Street at around 11:10pm last night.

“Upon arrival members saw flames coming from a rear shed. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames from the shed and surrounding trees. The shed suffered extensive fire damage and partially collapsed.

“It appears there were people in the area around the same time the fire was discovered. Police are seeking assistance from anyone who may have information, no matter how irrelevant they think it may be, to contact Alice Springs Police. We believe the circumstances surrounding this fire to be suspicious.” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Phillips said.
