Call for Public Assistance – Murder Investigation– Alice Springs

Detectives in Alice Springs investigating the murder of a local man are calling for witnesses to a car fire on Stuart Highway, about one kilometre north of Alice Springs on Monday night 18th of February.

Detective Sergeant Tony Henrys of the Major Crime Squad appealed to drivers who may have been in the vicinity of the crime scene to come forward.

“I can advise that a motor vehicle fire in close proximity to where the body of the deceased man was found on Tuesday afternoon is linked to our investigation.

"We are appealing to anybody passing through this area on the Stuart Highway after 9.30 pm on Monday night the 18th of February 2013 that may have seen a sedan parked on the side of the road to contact Police."

To date, three men have been charged with murder and a fourth man has been charged as an accessory after the fact.
