Drug and Firearm Charges - Adelaide River

A 37-year-old man will appear in court facing drug and firearm charges following a raid on a home in Adelaide River.

Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims said members from the Northern Substance Intelligence Desk executed a search warrant on the home yesterday afternoon.

“During the warrant Drug Detector Dog “Archie” provided a positive result to items located in one of the rooms.

“Police located and seized a trafficable amount of Methamphetamines, divided into 11 half gram deal bags and 490 grams of cannabis sealed in a flour drum.

“During the course of the search Police also seized around $3,000, drug paraphernalia as well as two unsecured firearms and unsecured ammunition.”

A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with:

Possess cannabis –trafficable quantity

Possess Methamphetamine – trafficable quantity

Unlawful supply cannabis to another

Supply Methamphetamine

Possess thing – administer dangerous drug; and

Firearm offences

He has been bailed to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court 13 February.

“We will continue to target those responsible for supplying illicit drugs to the remote areas of the Northern Territory because of the devastating effects that it has on the health of people in these areas”  Detective Sims said.
