Firearm and Drug Charges - The Narrows

Police

Members from Strike Force Trident have arrested and charged a 35-year-old man in relation to firearm and drug offences following a raid on a unit in The Narrows today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said during the search warrant Police  seized a sawn off Anschutz .22LR bolt action rifle with one round in the chamber and loaded magazine; a sawn off Winchester 12 gauge shotgun; and an illegal baton with side handle.

Police also seized a quantity of cannabis and around $1500 in cash.

“It is quite concerning that people allegedly involved in the supply of dangerous drugs have loaded sawn off firearms at their disposal.  This is a good result getting these illegal weapons off the street.”

The man was arrested and charged with:

Supply Dangerous Drug

Posses a dangerous drug, cannabis

Possess Tainted Property

Posses/use prohibited firearm

Posses/use firearm unlicensed

Possess ammunition without permit licence.
