A 39-year-old woman will appear in Katherine Magistrates court this morning charged with possession of heroin.

Acting Superintendent Clint Sims said Members from the Northern Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk (NSAID) and Drug Detector Dog ‘Archie’ conducted drug screening on a bus at the BP service station in Katherine yesterday.

“Archie provided a positive reaction to the woman’s luggage and 0.3 grams of heroin was located and seized inside a makeup kit.

“The woman was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance heroin and possessing a thing to administer a dangerous drug.”
