A 22-year-old man will appear in Alice Springs Magistrate Court today charged with the theft of a motor vehicle and property damage.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said Police allege the offender stole a Four Wheel Drive from a business in Ciccone at around 8:50pm 6 February.

“Police alleged the man drove the car through a cyclone chain link fence causing damage to the fence. The man then drove to a residence in Alice Springs and unlawfully entered it.”

He was arrested and charged with damage to property (x4), stealing (x2), aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle, aggravated enter dwelling intent to commit an offence, drive whist disqualified and driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
