A 23-year-old man will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court this morning in relation to the death of a 47-year-old Palmerston man.

Acting Commander James O’Brien of the Crime and Specialist Support said Police will allege the two men had been involved in an altercation in the vicinity of the Palmerston CBD during the evening Sunday 20 January and the following morning.

“Police will further allege that the 47-year-old man died as a result of the injuries sustained during the altercation.

“The 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with murder. He was remanded in custody and will appear in court this morning.”
