'Summer in Alice' Concludes

Northern Territory Police have arrested 185 people during a special summer operation in Alice Springs developed to target property crime.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said the three month operation has been very successful in terms of reducing the incidents of unlawful entries and property crime.

“One hundred and eighty-five people were arrested in relation to 500 various offences. A further 46 Notices to Appear as well as 33 infringement notices were issued. Police also conducted 375 bail checks.

“The Operation concludes this week however Police will continue to target property related offending in Alice Springs.

“I encourage members of the public to report any concerning or suspicious behaviour to Police. You are our eyes and ears on the ground and your reports are of great value to Police.”
