Two Arrested Aggravated Assault Humpty Doo

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad have charged two men in relation to the aggravated assault of a 33-year-old man at Humpty Doo on Tuesday night.

Serious Crime Squad Detectives executed a search warrant at  McMinns Lagoon and arrested a 22-year-old man yesterday afternoon.  This man has been charged with;

·         Recklessly Endangering Serious Harm;

·         Acts Intended to Cause Serious Harm;

·         Aggravated Assault;

·         Conspiracy to Commit Crimes; and

·         Violent Disorder

Last night, a second man was arrested in connection with the incident. The 23-year-old has been charged with;

·                  Fight in a Public Place;

·                  Engage in Violent Conduct; and

·                  Take Part in an Unlawful Assembly

Both men have  gone before the courts and been granted conditional bail to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on Monday, 25 February 2013 .

A third man is still wanted by police in relation to the assault  and police inquiries continue in this regard.  

“We urge members of the public who may have information about the assault to come forward. If you were present at the Humpty Doo Tavern on Tuesday evening at around 8:30pm, please contact Police,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Kennon.
