Two more ‘Rebels’ Arrested - Darwin

Police have arrested another two members of the Darwin chapter of the Rebels Motorcycle Club for drug related offences.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fuller of the Drugs and Specialist Crime Division said the two arrests added to the growing arrest list of Rebels Club members and associates.

“A 29-year-old Nightcliff man was arrested on Wednesday and has since been remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court in April,” Detective Superintendent Fuller said.

He was charged with:

  • Possess dangerous drug trafficable quantity
  • Possess dangerous drug
  • Prevent witness from attending court (x2)
  • Intimidation of witness
  • Attempt to pervert the course of justice (x3)
  • Conspire to pervert justice.

Yesterday a 19-year-old man was charged with:

  • Unlawfully supply dangerous drug
  • Conspire with another to commit a crime.

He has since received bail and is to appear in court 21 March 2013.

“This follows the arrest of two other members and an associate aged 30, 27 and 26 in the last two weeks. In total these five men are facing 57 charges relating to drugs, violence and intimidation of witnesses.

“Police work hard to dismantle organised crime within the Territory, and expect further arrests in the near future.

“If you choose to associate with Outlaw Motorcycle Gang's and conduct illicit activities, we will target you,” Detective Superintendent Fuller said.
