Update – Unlawful Entry – Stolen Firearms – Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police have arrested two males in relation to two separate unlawful entries at a residence in Tennant Creek.

The first unlawful entry occurred sometime between Saturday 31 August and Wednesday 4 September. Multiple items including a rifle, safe, cash and jewellery were stolen. The second unlawful entry occurred overnight on 4 September and a flat-screen television was stolen.

Tennant Creek Police executed a search warrant at a residence where they located a 16-year-old male in the same property as the stolen television on 9 September. Further enquiries on 10 September established the 16-year-old male as the offender and he was arrested around 3:30pm. He was charged with unlawful entry, damage to property and stealing. He was remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on 12 September 2019.

Tennant Creek Police arrested a 22-year-old male around 3:30pm yesterday in relation to the unlawful entry on 4 September. He is also expected to be charged with unlawful entry, damage to property and stealing.

Despite the arrests, all stolen property except the safe and television remain outstanding. The firearm is described as a black coloured Browning Arms Co. XBOLT 22.250 Remington Bolt Action Rifle with a scope attached, which was in an orange and black soft firearm carry case.
