Northern Territory police are at the scene of a fatal crash on Larapinta Drive, 16 kilometres west of Hermannsburg.

The single vehicle crash was reported at around 3.50pm this afternoon.

One person has died and four other occupants are being treated at the scene.

Major Crash Investigation Unit are travelling to the scene.

Larapinta Drive is closed in both directions.
