Arrest - Assaults – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are investigating after multiple assaults in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 4:20pm, police received reports of two assaults involving a female youth entering businesses in the Alice Springs CBD and assaulting employees.

In the first incident a female employee was allegedly spat on after requesting the youths leave the premises after causing a disturbance and in the second incident another employee was punched multiple times in the head after refusing to hand over cash.

Police attended both incidents and arrested a 12-year-old female in relation to both incidents. She was conveyed home to a responsible adult with a Territory Families referral submitted.

At each incident the offender was accompanied by 3 females and a male youth, all aged between 12 and 9-years-old. Investigations are continuing as to their role in the incidents.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the assaults to make contact on 131 444 and quote reference 24025660.
