Call for witnesses - Pedestrian strike - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after a fatal pedestrian strike in Alice Springs overnight.

Around 8:00pm emergency services were called to Undoolya Road after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, emergency service personnel commenced CPR on the male pedestrian but he was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the motorcycle, a male, was located at the scene with significant injuries and conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital in a critical condition.

Prior to the crash, the same motorcycle was seen being ridden around East Side. The motorcycle is described as an orange and black KTM off road bike.

Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the incident.

Undoolya Road, which had been closed overnight, is now open.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have seen the bike being ridden prior to the incident to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 24005419.
