Fatal crash - Ludmilla

Northern Territory Police were called to the scene of a fatal crash overnight, where a 47-year-old man lost his life.

Shortly after 11pm, the man was driving a van outbound along Bagot Road when he lost control amid heavy rainfall and collided with a tree. The driver was ejected from the vehicle, suffering serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations into the matter are currently underway.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, "Initial investigation indicates that speed and not wearing a seatbelt are factors in this crash.

“In the wake of this incident, Northern Territory Police urge all motorists to exercise the utmost caution when driving in adverse weather conditions.  It is paramount that drivers adjust driving habits to ensure the safety of all road users."
