Police

Northern Territory Police have apprehended additional youths in relation to recent property crime incidents across Darwin.

Yesterday morning, detectives from Strike Force Trident arrested a 14-year-old female for her alleged involvement in multiple incidents including a crime series last month and a ram raid and traffic crash earlier this week.

She has since been charged with:

  • 6 x Aggravated Burglary – Building
  • 6 x Damage to Property
  • 6 x Theft
  • 3 x Driving / Riding / Using Motor Vehicle without Consent

She was bailed to appear in court on 26 March 2024.

Detectives have identified further offenders and investigations into the incidents remain ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Dale Motter-Barnard said “Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations and general duties will continue to respond to, and investigate, property crime across the Territory, continuously putting these offenders before the courts.

“The incidents we have seen recently are completely unacceptable and it’s luckily an innocent bystander wasn’t injured or killed.

“As always, fast information is often key to our ability to make fast arrests and we urge the public to immediately report crime or anti-social behaviour through 131 444 or in emergency to call triple zero.”
