About
The Alawa people have lived in South-Eastern Arnhem Land for thousands of years. Minyerri is 240km southeast of Katherine along the Roper Highway.
Elsey Homestead is about 150km. The world famous Katherine Gorge is 250km from Minyerri.
The area is prime cattle country with numerous cattle stations surrounding the community.
Education
Minyerri has one school covering from year 1 through to year 12.
The school principal has lived and worked in Minyerri for many years and the school has a good reputation for attendance and results.
