Katherine Investigation Unit detectives arrested a 36-year-old man yesterday in Katherine East following a neighbourhood dispute.

At about 10.00 am yesterday the 36-year-old man had a verbal argument with a 32-year-old male neighbour which then escalated when the offender allegedly produced a crossbow and discharged it, narrowly missing his neighbour.

After a short negotiation the offender was arrested by police without further incident and conveyed to the Katherine Police Station and later charged with recklessly endangering serious harm.

He was bailed with strict conditions to appear in the Katherine Court on 11 January next year.
