Major Crash Investigators and detectives are presently carrying out inquiries into a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred on Bagot Road at about 7.10 pm tonight.

A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the inbound lane of Bagot Road opposite the Bagot Community. The pedestrian sustained head and facial injuries and was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance.

The inbound lane of Bagot Road remains closed from Fitzer Drive to the Stuart Highway and traffic is being diverted around the scene. Police advise motorists to take an alternative route as delays will be experienced.
