Arrest - Stealing - Casuarina and Palmerston

Members from the Commander's Tactical Team have arrested a 19-year-old and 22-year-old male in relation to several stealing incidents that occurred over the last few days at a Casuarina and Palmerston service station.

The 19-year-old male has been captured on CCTV when has entered the Caltex service station in Casuarina at 9am on Wednesday morning. He has convinced the sales attendant that he was working for a cigarette company and had been asked to collect excess cartons of cigarettes.

The attendant has handed over multiple cartons of cigarettes, to the value of approximately $1000, and he has then left the service station.

At approximately midnight last night, the offenders have also stolen a blue box trailer from the Coles Express Service station in Durack.

Police have located the offenders a short time after, towing the trailer and with the stolen cigarette cartons in the back of the vehicle.

Both the 19-year-old and the 22-year-old male have been charged with:
Stealing
Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed
Drive unregistered vehicle
Posses plates calculated to deceive
Number plate not attached
Obtain property by deception

They have been bailed to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court next week.
