Members of Katherine Investigations Unit arrested a 17-year-old male youth yesterday in relation to the sale of stolen property.

The items were stolen during an unlawful entry at a residence in Katherine East on February 4 this year. The youth is alleged to have indecently assaulted one of the occupants before he fled the house.

Members located the male at a local business where he was allegedly trying to sell the stolen property.

The youth has been charged with the following offences

Unlawful entry of an occupied dwelling at night
Indecent assault
Stealing

He has been bailed to appear at the Katherine Youth Court on the 7th April 2010.

Detective Sergeant Henrys said, "This youth was caught due to the responsible actions of a local business owner, it shows working partnerships between Police and the entire community make a difference to our safety and enjoyment".
