Body found –Alice Springs

Police

Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in Alice Springs yesterday.

Police received a report just before 4pm that the body of a man had been found at the base of Teppa Hill near Priest Street. Detectives from the Regional Investigations Division attended the scene and a crime scene was established.

The body was identified as that of a 57-year-old Aboriginal man.

An autopsy will be conducted on Tuesday to determine the cause of death, but at this stage investigations are continuing and police are still treating the death as suspicious.
