Drug Seizure - Herbert

Police


At about 11:00am police stopped a gold Toyota Hilux on the Stuart Highway; a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 1.94 grams of methylamphetamine and a quantity of cash.

As a result of the seizure a search warrant was conducted at a house in Herbert. As a result of the search NT Police located and seized:

1 gram of methylamphetamine
A clip seal bag of cannabis seeds
Items used to manufacture and package drugs

A 32-year-old man was charged with the following:

Possess dangerous drug in a public place0
Supply schedule 2 substance
Receive property - commission of an offence
Possess / carry / use controlled weapon
Possess methylamphetamine
Possess a dangerous drug - cannabis

The 53-year-old man was charged with the following:

Possess dangerous drug in a public place
Receive property - commission of an offence
Supply schedule 2 substance

Both men are due to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 18 August.

A third person, a 57-year-old Victorian man, has been interviewed and remains under investigation for his involvement in the matter.
