Police have released the name of a 27-year-old woman who died in a single vehicle crash north of Alice Springs last night.

Tennant Creek resident Jessica Elizabeth Kelly died when she lost control of her Nissan Tida sedan on the Stuart Highway 110 kilometres north of Alice Springs. The vehicle left the road and crashed into a culvert.

Major Crash investigators attended the scene however the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

No further details are available at this time. The death brings the Territory road toll to 21 compared to 14 for the same period last year.
