Methylamphetamine seizure – Fly Creek – Update #2

A 49-year-old man has been charged in relation to drug and stolen goods offences at his Fly Creek residence yesterday.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Section executed a search warrant and located:
29.3 grams of methylamphetamine
1.8 grams of cannabis seeds
A syringe loaded with 2 millilitres of methylamphetamine
Clip seal bags contained traces of methylamphetamine
2 x double necked glass reaction flasks
1 x used double necked glass reaction flasks
1 x glass flank - used
4.8kg of a unknown white powder
1 x stolen 6.5 Honda generator - valued at $6000

Police forensics are currently testing the 4.8kg of white powder.

The man has been charged in relation to the possession and manufacture of a schedule two substance, possess article to manufacture and receiving stolen property.

The man is due to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 28 July.

Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims said: "Police are committed to stopping the manufacturing of illicit drugs. This is the third person charged to date as part of Operation Beckton and we anticipate further arrests."

A 41-year-old man remains in police custody after facing 41 drug and firearm charges on Monday. His 27-year-old partner was arrested and charged yesterday in relation to the incident. She also remains in police custody.
