Property crime arrests –Alice Springs

Members of the Property Crime Reduction Unit have arrested two males in relation to a number of property offences in the past few months.

A 27-year-old man was arrested after a finger print match identified him in relation to the vandalism and stealing from six cars in the Golf Course area in March.

Police arrested the man yesterday and interviewed him. He will now be summonsed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police also arrested a teenager in relation to the attempted stealing of a car from an Ellery Drive premises. Police allege that on June 22 the youth and four co-offenders smashed the window of a Ford F100 and attempted to steal the vehicle. The four co-offenders were arrested the same night and have been dealt with.

The 17-year-old was arrested yesterday. He has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing and criminal damage. He has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on September 2.
