Police are investigating a two-car crash which occurred in the Alice Springs CBD today.

Police received a report just before midday that two vehicles had collided at the southern end of the Todd Mall on Gregory Terrace. When police arrived they found the driver of an unregistered Holden Commodore sedan had fled the scene and the female driver of a Toyota Corolla had sustained injuries in the crash. She was taken to Alice Springs Hospital by ambulance.

Traffic was diverted around the scene and fire crews attended to clear the area.

Police are still searching for the driver of the Holden Commodore who allegedly failed to give way at the intersection.
