NT Police are calling for public assistance after an unlawful entry and stealing incident at the Hidden Valley Tavern overnight.

At about 4:45am this morning an unknown male offender is alleged to have used a crow bar to smash open a door at the Pit Stop bar, before fleeing the scene with a quantity of alcohol.

The Holden Commodore depicted in CCTV taken from the tavern matches the description of a vehicle stolen from a Darwin City hotel earlier in the morning.

Police believe the incidents may be linked.
