Intelligence and Investigations officers have been deployed to Alice Springs to support the ongoing response to law and order issues in the community.

"These additional officers will work with Alice Springs Police in operational activities aimed at reducing street level crime, property crime and assaults." Said Assistant Commissioner Mark Payne.

Last week mounted patrols, general duties police, detectives and an Intelligence manager arrived in Alice Springs to help reduce an expected rise in crime due to the influx of people attending an AFL match in the town.

This week another eight officers from Darwin will head to Alice Springs to boost resources in the ongoing fight against crime and anti-social behaviour.
