Assault - Nightcliff

Police

Police are hunting a man who assaulted a woman riding her bicycle along Progress Drive this morning at about 6.30 am.

The woman turned into Nightcliff Road where she was grabbed from behind by a man causing her to fall off her bike.  The man has then threatened her.

The woman screamed which caused the offender to run off along Nightcliff road.

The man is described as being of aboriginal appearance, aged in his late teens of average height with a medium ‘fit’ build.

The man was not wearing a shirt and had on dark denim shorts.  His hair was shaved on the sides and short on top.

Police are investigating the possibility of a link between this assault and the sexual assault which occurred in the early hours of Friday morning in Fannie Bay.

Police ask that anyone who may have seen a man fitting the description in the Nightcliff area this morning to contact them on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
