Charges Laid - Yuendumu Update

A 39-year-old man has been charged with Attempted Murder following a disturbance in the community of Yuendumu on the morning of November 5th.

Police allege the man deliberately drove a Mitsubishi Challenger with the intent of causing harm when he struck a 38-year-old pedestrian with the vehicle.

Superintendent Peter Gordon said the man was charged yesterday.

“The man has been charged with Attempted Murder, Intent to Cause Serious Harm, Recklessly Endanger Life, Aggravated Assault and Drive Disqualified.” Superintendent Gordon said.

The man is to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on Tuesday the 8 November 2011
