Police are calling on assistance from the public following an indecent assault that occurred in Casuarina yesterday afternoon.

It was reported to Police that at around 6:00 pm a 33-year-old female was on second floor in the Coles car park when she was approached by a male who inappropriately touched her.

He left the scene a short time later.

The offender is described to be of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 180 cm's tall and medium length black scruffy hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a black short sleeve t-shirt, black cotton cargo type shorts.

Police urge anyone that may have been in the area at the time, or who may have witnessed the incident, to contact police on 131 444.
