A 29-year-old male has been charged with drink driving offences after being involved in a crash in Parap overnight.

At approximately 12:10 am this morning patrolling Police members noticed a downed palm tree on the Parap Road and Stuart Highway intersection. A toolbox and a Toyota Hilux logo was also found at the scene.

Officers conducted a search of the area, locating the offending vehicle on Ross Smith Avenue. The 29-year-old male driver and his passenger were also found with the damaged vehicle.

The driver later returned a blood alcohol content reading of .168 percent and is to face court at a later date.
