Northern Territory Police are investigating a road crash involving a police car at the intersection of the Stuart Highway and Amy Johnson Avenue in Coonawarra this afternoon.

About half-past-one, a police vehicle was responding under lights and sirens to a nearby vehicle fire.

Upon proceeding through the intersection, the NT Police vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a utility.

St John’s Ambulance and NT Fire and Rescue attended the scene.

The Police officers and the male driver of the utility have all been taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital for observation.

Police investigations are continuing to determine events leading up to the collision.
