Rescue Me

Police

More than 200 community members turned up to show their support of our fire fighters and cheer each individual on as he made his way up the 14 story tower. All funds raised at this event will assist 25 of the Northern Territory's finest fire fighters to travel to New York from August to September and participate in the 2011 World Police and Fire Games. Nt2ny coordinator, Fire fighter Manny Koulakis said nt2ny was the name given to the project that is very close to our fire fighters hearts. "Whilst attending the games, we will also be in New York to commemorate ten years since the devastating September 11 World Trade Centre attacks that claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people, including 400 emergency service personnel. "We're very keen to be there and show our respects to our fallen comrades and represent Australia and the Northern Territory in the World Games," he said. A number of other initiatives have been planned between now and August to raise the funds required for our members to attend the games.
